My First 4 Training Sessions With Mendi
It’s like kettle bell training for the brain
I have never been so excited over a tech device. The same neurofeedback training used by artists, athletes and NASA, arrived in a home version to my front door. I opened the box, charged the headband, downloaded the free app on everyone’s iOS devices, and we began training. The recommended target, and my aim, is for 7 days of 10 minute training. My first focus is to improve my sleep.
The process requires you to do a few guided rounds of breath-work before you begin. You also have a space within the app to take notes before and after.
The headband’s sensors are placed on your forehead, above your eyebrows. Then, you begin a gamified training session to move a spinning ball with your mental focus. It’s not so easy.
My first four days’ results are a reflection of learning some best practices. I will make week 2 my baseline data and choose a focus. Week one: I have learned that the time of day, lighting and body positioning matter.
See you next week.
